Today was the Midterm over Chapter 3 Access.

Today we caught up on the chapter work. We reviewed and asked questions about things we didnt know about the the midterm tommorow.

MIS Access (Day2) Querying

Today we learned about queries. A query is simply a question presented in a way that Access can process.

Querying a Database:

- Create an use parameter queries

- Using compound criteria in queries

- Sort data in queries

- Join tables in queries

- Create a report from queries

- Perform calculations in queries

- Create crossover queries

MIS Access (Day 1) Creating Databases

Today we ventured into Microsoft Access and learnd out to set up a database.

Creating and Using a database.

Microsoft Office Access 2007:

- Describe databases and database management systems

- How to start Access

- Create a table and add records

- Close tables

- Open databases

- Create and use split forms

- Data entry and update

- Queries

- Forms Reports

Ultimately designing a database to satisfy a collection of requirements.

M.I.S. Excel (Day 4) Test Day !

Today we learned how to move text around, change cell width, increase and decrease indents, add cells, adding symbols to numbers, freezing panes when dealing with large spreadsheets, adding dates,$ symbol for cell to stay the same, to form IF statements meaning logical test, value IF true, value IF false.


I expect a 100% on my TEST !!

M.I.S. Excel (Day 3) Work Day

Today we worked on chapter 3 : What-If Anaylysis, Charting, and Working with Large Worksheets. We also had time to finish up on HW Cases and Places assignments in Chapt 3 and in-class work.

Intro to M.I.S. - How to create a Blog/ Excel Chapt.2 (Day 2)

Today is the second day of class we went over blogging. I debuted my first blog yesterday. We created our own url so that my blog is available to everyone in the world to read.

Step 1: Go to blogger.com and create a profile

Step 2: Create a title for your blog

Step 3: Start to write your blog according to your title

Step 4: Add a picture by finding a image online google images, saving to hard drive or save url, then go back to your blog and click add image link

Step 5: Decide where your image will be aligned

Step 6: Click publish post...VOILA !



EXCEL Chapt.2

How to stack words:

Double cliock on cell, place cursor between the words you want stacked on top of ea. other. Press ALT Delete


How to do Calculations: Always start with =
Mutiply (*), Divide(/), Add(+), Subtract(-)

ex: =d4*e4

For averages,minimums,maxiums always use a colon (:)

ex: average(d4:E4) click enter

Intro to M.I.S. - Excel Spreadsheets (Day 1)

Today we learned that anything thing you need can be found free online suchas: Open Office,Google Docs, which are like Microsoft office.

How to total columns:

Highlight Cell

Click Auto Sum

Click enter

We also learned how to use the fill handle.

To use the fill handle:

Click on the cell

In the corner click the black X

Drag to fill all of the columns totals

To generate totals:

Highlight cell

Drag down

Then click auto sum

To center & merge:

Drag cell all the way across spreadsheet

Click on merge & center under alignment

To add dollar signs & columns:

Click under numbers

Click down arrow

Go to accounting

To add a chart to spreadsheet:

Highlight what you want charted,

Click insert

Click columns

Note to self on spreadsheets: Columns = X-axis, Rows = Y-axis
